Another one bites the dust

I had just hit "publish" on the last post when my mom calls my cell phone. So I'm sitting out here at my computer, the office is dark, lit only by the computer screen. The TV is quietly playing in the living room, only slightly quieter than my husband's snores from the recliner. All three kids are in bed. The house is quiet. Mom and I are having the most pleasant conversation...

The mousetrap in the pantry snapped again.

Two down...God knows how many more to go.

It's a veritable invasion.

I hate mice.

Haaaaa!
I have you beat!

I had a RAT!

Yep... big ole nasty stinky rat... living right in my garage.
You could smell that sucker everytime you walked by the door.

Even the cat was afraid of him.

yep... BIG RAT!

He's dead now.

God I hope it wasn't a mommy RAT!

Yuck!

Ah, the good ol' days...when I would sit in my darkened living room and see the little suckers scurry along the wall to reach the kitchen.

I adopted a stray cat.
No more mousies.
HA!

We got a cat back in the fall and brought her inside while we were undergoing an invasion and the stupid thing did nothing but SLEEP all day long! No kidding! She even let the two two-year-olds drag her around by the tail, she let them put clothes on her...she just slept right through it. I guess that life on the farm isn't all that laid back for a cat and she was just purely exhausted when we finally brought her in.

She lasted all of 4 days before the sleeping and the refusal the use the litter box got reaaaaaaaally old and she got booted.

We....the people
