I've gotten a few compliments on it, though. Some are genuine and others are just because they got caught looking at me like "Holy FUCK woman, who colored your hair with melted pennies??"

Recklace, I, too, have ended up with burgundy and maroon, but the one that is most memorable is the time I colored my hair myself and it literally turned PINK. Mr. Diva laughed till he cried over that one.
Jen, I love your hair the color is it now! I'd go with some blonde SALON highlights if you're bound and determined to color it. If you color at home you're liable to end up penny-colored like I am as dark as your hair is! Of course, then we could be the penny twins.
